Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
OCR is the electronic translation of images of printed or typewritten text into machine editable text. After a document has been scanned, it is put through the OCR process in order to make the text of that image searchable. OCR works best with originals or clean copies; however, it doesn’t work well with forms, mathematical equations and handwritten documents.
